Global Summer Dance
Peridance's Global Summer Dance Intensive is a 2-week comprehensive training program designed for dancers ages 12-17 with the goal to develop, increase, and strengthen their level of technique, self-confidence, and artistry. An experienced and knowledgeable faculty strongly emphasizes clean technique and self-discipline within a nurturing and supportive environment.This program emphasizes contemporary forms and is tailored to push dancers both technically and artistically. Students will study a variety of genres from renowned faculty and work with two fresh and upcoming choreographers in New York City. At the end of the two weeks, Global Summer Dance participants will demonstrate their work in a fully produced performance presented at Peridance's KnJ Theater.
The curriculum will include daily classes in Ballet Technique, Contemporary Forms & Modern Dance, Commercial Dance & Street Styles, Body Conditioning, and Choreographic Projects. The program will feature new works by choreographers Gina Menichino and Tushrik Fredericks!

Program Dates: July 1 - 13, 2024, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
Performance Tech Rehearsal: Friday, July 12, 2024 8:00pm
Performance: Saturday, July 13, 2024 8:00 pm
(Please note: there are no classes on July 4, 2024.)
Tuition: $1350

ADMISSIONS
Audition results will be emailed within two weeks of your audition along with the Registration Form. A minimum non-refunable Tuition Deposit and Registration Fee of $550 will be due at the time of registration. Full tuition for the program is $1350.
At this time, Peridance does not provide housing or meals. All participating dancers and their families are responsible for securing their own accommodation for the duration of the program.
Peridance is able to award partial to full merit based scholarships to Global Summer Dance. Scholarships are decided at the time of the audition. Dancers who are awarded a scholarship will be notified at the time of receiving their audition result. Scholarships can only be applied towards the cost of tuition. All dancers and their families are responsible for any housing, travel, meals, or related expenses.

Gina MenichinoFrom Tampa and Miami to LA and now NYC, Gina Menichino (she/her) is a dancer, teacher and choreographer. Gina has danced on stages, TV episodes, and music videos, and has assisted choreographers internationally. She can be seen on NBC's World Of Dance season 3 competing with team Radiance, and music videos including Daya, Tiesto, and Blake McGrath as well as industrial performances for the Emmy's Governors Ball, Tony Robbins Benefit Show, and more. She is grateful to have assisted choreographers and mentors such as Tyce Diorio, Megan Lawson, and Cat Cogliandro. Gina has also worked alongside Nappy Tabs, Tessandra Chavez, and Derek Hough. As a student, Gina studies all aspects of modern artistry such as Horton, Limone, and Graham along with ballet training in Cecchetti, Vaganova, and Balanchine.Gina currently teaches around the nation with her contemporary fusion/improv dance elements. Tushrik FredericksRecipient of Princess Grace Award (Chris Helman dance honor), nominated by TRIBE (Founding artistic director, Shamel Pitts) in 2021, Tushrik Fredericks is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa. Growing up he found himself drawn towards the style 'KRUMP'. He graduated from the Peridance Certificate Program in NYC in June 2015 and has had the opportunity to work with Ate9 dANCEcOMPANY (Danielle Agami, Artistic Director), Sidra Bell Dance New York (Sidra Bell, Artistic director) and UNA Productions (Chuck Wilt). Fredericks was an assistant lecturer to Sidra Bell at The University of the Arts Philadelphia for Sophomore students (2016-2018). In May 2021 Fredericks received 3rd prize for dance at the SoloTanz Festival in Stuttgart for his first rendition of his self choreographed solo '(territory) of the heart' and in May 2023 he showcased the completed rendition of the solo at the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, NY. |
