BIOGRAPHY
Marisa Martin is a New York City-based dancer and yoga teacher. She holds a BFA in Dance from Fordham University/The Ailey School and has performed across the US, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, as well as on screen in dance films, commercials, and music videos. She received her Vinyasa Yoga certification from Yoga Vida and continued additional training in Anatomy, Restorative Yoga, Trauma-Sensitivity, and the fundamentals of Iyengar Yoga. Among its many positive effects, Marisa found that a regular yoga practice brought new strength, maturity, and breadth to her dancing while helping to manage the mental and emotional demands of a dance career. She is passionate about sharing these benefits with the dance community, as well as making yoga accessible to all. With a specialty in Yoga for Dancers, she has taught a large range of ages at many dance studios and training programs. Most notably, she has been a guest teacher at Seed Dance Center in Taiwan and at the residence of the esteemed Juilliard School. Marisa currently teaches for Peridance Center and Yoga Vida and holds private sessions for individuals, groups, and corporations.
