BIOGRAPHY

Julio Bragado-Young is a classical ballet dancer whose 15 year career with American Ballet Theatre includes many character roles as well as dancing roles. From the beginning, critics recognized his ability to give life and depth to characters requiring a unique understanding of drama and comedy. As Bottom in Frederick Ashton's The Dream "...his acting was superb as he relived his nightmare as a beast." Anna Kisselgoff, New York Times. "If Shakespeare had been a choreographer...( and if he could have cast Julio Bragado-Young as Bottom, he surely would have.)" Laura Shapiro, New York Times. As Member of the Corps de Ballet he was featured in soloist roles including Count N. in John Neumeier's "Lady of the Camelias", Wilfred in American Ballet Theatre's production of "Giselle", Sancho Panza and Gamache in Kevin Mckenzie's "Don Quixote", The Roper in Agnes DeMille's "Rodeo", The Profiteer in Kurt Joss' "The Green Table" and in Jiri Kylian's "Petite Mort" and "Sech Tanz."
