BIOGRAPHY

Javier Padilla is a movement artist from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Starting his training at School for the Performing Arts under Waldo Gonzalez and Olaya Muentes in Puerto Rico and continuing his studies at Mason Gross School of the Arts. His choreographic work has been presented at venues such as Dixon Place, Open Source Gallery, The Secret Theater, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Triskelion Arts, Judson Memorial Church, Socrates Sculpture Park and the Inside/Out Stage at Jacob's Pillow. Javier has been commissioned by several institutions including Bucknell University, West Chester University, Ballet Forte and will work with Wandering Movers this coming Fall of 2018. He has also been awarded a CUNY Dance Initiative Residency and Dance On The Lawn Montclair's New Jersey Emerging Choreographer Commission of 2018.
