BIOGRAPHY

Hanna Herbertson grew up on a Swedish island in the Baltic sea called Gotland. It was there she discovered her passion for dance and music. That passion has brought her to many places around the world. She has taught dance for over 15 years, teaching students young and old, beginner to advanced. Hanna is currently splitting her time between Europe and New York. She has worked and taught all over the U.S. as well as in Jamaica, South Korea, Australia, Singapore, France, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Belgium and Canada. As a versatile choreographer & dancer she prefers not to be pigeonholed but her genre of choice and expertise is Dancehall. Hanna is very passionate about teaching her students the foundations of Dancehall as well as exploring different expressions within the genre. She travels to Jamaica on a regular basis and has worked with the country’s top dancers such as Matthew & Conray of Shady Squad and Rahmus from Rifical Team. Her work has also been recognized by DanceJA.com. They nominated her two consecutive years in the categories: Most Popular Female Dancer USA & Most Popular on the International scene. In 2009 she co-founded the Blackgold Dance Crew in NYC with fellow choreographers Korie Genius and History. They have appeared on television in Jamaica and the CBS Early Show (with Mr. Vegas and the New Kingston band) which aired to over three million viewers. Blackgold has also appeared in music videos and performed on stages around the U.S. Hanna’s passion for music has led her into the worlds of DJing (she uses the moniker DJ Golden) as well as artist/brand development and management. Her past clients include: Opening Ceremony [US], Elliphant [Swe], Kissey [US], Zuzuka Poderosa [Brazil/US], Masia One [Singapore] and more.
