BIOGRAPHY

Graciela Kozak was born in Argentina, and trained at the Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires. She danced with the Bat-Dor and Bat- Sheva companies in Israel, and the Peridance Ensemble in NY. She has performed works by Alvin Ailey, Paul Taylor, Jiri Kylian, Mark Morris, Igal Perry, Lar Lubovich, Donald McKayle and many other choreographers. Graciela joined the Peridance Faculty in 1985, where she also teaches the Ensemble and Core of the School at Peridance. She is also a member of the Professional and Junior Divisions at The Ailey School. She has taught classes for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ailey II, Ballet Tech, Complexions, Donald Byrd, Pascal Rioult, the School of Ballet Hispanico and Ballett Akademien in Sweden. She has also been a guest teacher with Paul Taylor Dance Company and Batsheva Dance Company. She currently teaches at the School at Peridance; teaching the Junior and Senior Ensembles and at the Ailey School’s Professional and Junior Divisions. Ms. Kozak speaks many different languages and her classes are attended by students from all over the world. Her classes are for dancers of all backgrounds and accentuate the prevention of injuries through correct alignment. She stresses placement, breathing, dynamics, musicality, vocabulary, use of space, and, most importantly, the joy of dancing.

CLASS DESCRIPTION

The class is for dancers of all backgrounds with already a base knowledge of Ballet. The focus is on correct alignment, musicality, use of space, artistry and most importantly the joy of dancing! Graciela speaks several languages and her classes are attended by dancers from all over the world.
