At the age of 24, Ms. LeCrone has already created several prominent works, competed in numerous choreography competitions, and received substantial grants and new commissions for her choreography.

Ms. LeCrone has worked with dancers from the New York City Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre, North Carolina Dance Theater, and Ballet West among others. She has participated in several choreography competitions including the National Choreographers Initiative, Ballet Builders, and The A.W.A.R.D. Show! 2009.

In The New York Times, Claudia La Rocco wrote “Her Aphorismós is a ready for primetime knockout…hinting at dark undercurrents that beg for second looks. More, please, Ms. LeCrone. Someone please give this woman a residency.” And Alastair Macaulay exclaimed “Emery LeCrone’s Chamber Dances (new in April 2010), to John Adams’s Road Movies for piano and violin, generated real excitement from its engagement with its score, its propulsive energy and its structural complexity, even though it was danced by three women alone. Ms. LeCrone, often responding to both pulse and melody in the music at the same time, creates spatially multidimensional works that make her dancers look galvanized both above and below the waist. She has a sense of gesture and a feeling for footwork.”

Ms. LeCrone recently received a generous grant from The Jerome Robbins Foundation’s, New Essential Works (NEW) Program directed by Damian Woetzel, for the creation her new work “Divergence” for Oregon Ballet Theatre. She is also a 2011-2012 New York City Center Fellow and will premiere a new work next year for The Juilliard School's New Dances Program.
