Elizabeth Parkinson was born in St. Petersburg, Florida and began her ballet training with Anzia Arsenault and Carol Lee at Tampa Ballet Arts. She attended summer workshops in San Antonio with Robert Joffrey and then after high school joined The Joffrey Two Dancers under the direction of Sally Bliss. Elizabeth was a principle dancer with the Joffrey Ballet, The Feld Ballet NY, Peridance Ensemble, Donald Byrd/The Group, Mark Dendy Danccers, and Twyla Tharp Dance. She has appeared in the National tours of The Harlem Nutcracker (Dir. Donald Byrd), Singin’ In The Rain (St. Louis Muny), and Carousel (Dir Nicholas Hytner). Elizabeth made her Broadway debut in 1998 in Fosse receiving a FANY Award for best Broadway debut and an Outer Critics Circle nomination. In 2003 she received a TONY nomination and a Drama Desk nomination for her performance as Brenda in the Twyla Tharp/Billy Joel musical Movin’ Out.
