CLASS DESCRIPTION
Class is composed of improvisation, phrase work, dialogue and community building. Movement is primarily based in a grounded, loose vocabulary that invites dancers to find containment and redirection in relationship to momentum. Phrases derive from a hybrid mentality, challenging the class to a clear execution inside intricate and quick-moving musicality. We build upon a commitment to understanding the body in relation to everything around it - a space to sift through and uncover. Catie aims to create an imaginative space where students feel liberated to take chances and risk failure in a protected classroom.
