Cassie is a New York City based choreographer and director with a passion for storytelling and a love of teaching. Her work is often recognized for its creativity, playfulness, and humor. She was selected as a finalist in the 2015 Capezio ACE Awards for choreographic excellence through Capezio and Dance Spirit Magazine. Cassie was the SDCF Observer for Choreographer Josh Bergasse the Broadway revival of On The Town. Cassie enjoys exploring choreography on film, and has choreographed two movie musicals. In 2013, she choreographed the feature film “Waiting in the Wings: The Musical,” which took home two Best Feature Awards in the festival circuit and and won Best Musical at the Manhattan Theater Festival. She just recently finished working on its sequel “Waiting in the Wings: Still Waiting,” which is set to hit festivals in fall of 2016. While working on the “Waiting in the Wings” series, Cassie has had the pleasure of working with Academy Award Winner Shirley Jones, Emmy Award Winner Bruce Vilanch, and Emmy and Golden Globe nominee, Lee Meriwether. Cassie's work has been featured in NYC at Neighborhood Playhouse, BC Beat, and the Peridance Certificate Showcase, and she has also been featured in Dance Informa Magazine. A California native, Cassie maintains an ongoing presence on the west coast and will be returning to direct and choreograph the Miss California Pageant and the Miss California's Outstanding Teen Pageant for the sixth time this year. Along with developing new work, Cassie has a passion for teaching. She is all on faculty with Marquee Your Name In Lights Dance Convention, Dance Project of Washington Heights, and is a guest teacher all over the country.
