BIOGRAPHY

Described as having “a brilliant mind” (Dance Enthusiast), Bryn Cohn is an award- winning choreographer, educator, published scholar and the artistic director of the bicoastal dance company Bryn Cohn + Artists since 2011. She has presented work and toured in premiere venues across the country including at Jacob’s Pillow, Danspace Project, Bryant Park, Hudson Valley Dance Festival, McCallum Theatre’s Choreography Competition, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center, 92nd Street Y and REDCAT Theatre. Cohn was nominated for a Princess Grace Fellowship in Choreography. She was selected by Robert Battle to participate in the New Directions Choreography Lab at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, a creative residency supported by the Ford Foundation. She has been commissioned by Louis Vuitton, Repertory Dance Theatre, Missouri Contemporary Ballet, Billy Bell’s Lunge Dance, Jacksonville Dance Theater, Big Muddy Dance Company, Youth America Grand Prix, California State University, Fullerton and Betsey Johnson. Her work Viewpoint was selected for the gala concert at the American College Dance Association in 2019. As a sought after teacher, she received a full feature in Dance Teacher Magazine. Cohn has taught at Gibney, CalArts, Rutgers University, Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles Ballet, Temple University, Broadway Dance Center, Cornish College of the Arts, Axis Connect and Peridance. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from California Institute of the Arts and was honored as a distinguished alumna. Cohn received a Master of Fine Arts from University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee as a High Honors and Chancellor's Award recipient.
