BIOGRAPHY
Originally from the Dominican Republic, Alex Mata (A- Lex) began his training at Casa de Danza in Santiago. He joined DA 21, a street-styled based dance crew during its foundational years. At the age of 18, Alex moved to the United States where he often traveled to New York to further his training. At EXPG, he met E-Solo who introduced him to the style of Lite Feet and since then Alex has invested in the style through class, sessions, and battles with other prominent Lite Feet figures such as Chrybaby Cozie and Ki-nen. Alex’s career highlights so far include performing at the Apollo Theater for “Breakin’ Convention 2017” with The Bwreckfast Club, being a member of both Project D and the Chosen Few Dance Company, and most recently being named a semi-finalist at LiteFest 2019 in London. Alex has also won numerous battles including Primetime Jam II 2017, Prove Your Groove 2018, as well as Mega Fusion and Versa both in 2019. He has been performing with Crespita Entertainment since 2015 at numerous high-end events, such as for Telemundo and J Balvin. Alex continues to teach, train, and battle along the Northeast coast.
CLASS DESCRIPTION
Beginner Lite Feet is a street style class for new participants to this NY-based genre as well as for those with previous knowledge who want to fine tune their fundamentals skills. Focus on the foundation of the style through drills using elements and party dances such as the “tone wop,” “bad one,” “rev-up,” and more while learning how to use them together and it make your own.
