Teacher Bio
Laja Field (she/her) is a creator, teacher and performer whose passion for live performance is rooted in relatable, nonlinear storytelling that evokes the power of imagination.
For the last five years Laja has been the Co-Artistic director of LajaMartin Physical Dance Theater with partner Martin Durov. Since its founding the two have shared their work in 16 different countries worldwide; performing in festivals, creating for companies and schools as well as teaching in a multitude of capacities. Some highlights include, a New York City premiere of Pinot Noir for the Curated Series by Gibney Dance Company; touring their work to Prisma Festival in Panama and the Šibenik Dance Festival in Croatia; teaching all over the U.S and for five consecutive years at the b12 festival in Berlin.
As an independent creative Laja played an integral role in bringing her own style of physical floor-work to NYC where she was also a founding member and rehearsal director with Vim Vigor Dance Company. Laja began her career as a member of the Johannes Wieland company at Staatstheater Kassel in Germany where she had the pleasure of working with many incredible colleagues, teachers and artists including but not limited to: Hofesh Shechter, Ryan Mason, Sita Ostheimer, Evangelos Poulinas, Stella Zannou and Chris Haring from Liquid Loft. The same year she joined the company, Laja graduated magna cum laude with a BFA from the University of Utah in 2012.
Currently based out of a suitcase, Laja continues all artistic endeavors with LajaMartin locally in her hometown, Salt Lake City, UT and across the globe. For more visit lajamartin.com

This class welcomes all movers looking to improve their floorwork skills. Flow smoothly into the foundation of floorwork to build strength, confidence and efficiency in riding momentum. Characterized by its hyper-dynamic movement defined by musicality and rhythm, this LajaMartin style FloorworkFlow class will offer many variations for each mover to push their physicality in a safe and community oriented environment.
