We will begin class with meditative and imaginative methods to become fully present in the space. Through a guided improvisation, we will release the mind in order to drop deeper into our bodies while we challenge ourselves to manifest energy through movement. Class exercises will include tasks to connect to the energy of our bodies, the space, and to the others around us. We will debunk labels, limitations and patterns to discover a fertile and judgement-free atmosphere. Once we have fully arrived, we will dive into floor work phrases and partnering tasks across the floor. Here we will focus on inversions, efficiency in and out of the floor and seamless transitions from one movement to the next. We will finish class with a gritty, animalistic phrase combining our previous explorations with the joy of athletic, effortful and raw movement.
