Lenin Fernandez, California native, began dancing at 18.
He attended the American Dance Festival 2013 and
performed in Twyla Tharp’s premiere of “Treefrog in
Stonehenge.” He trained in the The Gypsy Project: LA
under Erica Sobol learning from artists from Batsheva,
Lines, Forsythe, NDT, and Kidd Pivot. Early 2016, he
performed in in two full-length works with Rome based
Esklan Arts Factory, under Erika Silgoner. He has been
working with Sonya Tayeh for the past two years, debuting
in her world premier “You’ll Still Call Me By Name," (NYLA
‘16, Jacob’s Pillow in Aug 2018) and has additionally
worked with her on the off broadway musical “The Lucky
Ones” and workshopping for Moulin Rouge the musical. In
LA, he is company member with LA Contemporary Dance
Company, Heidi Duckler Dance Theater, Lobos Art
Collective(Erica Sobol), Acts of Matter and has danced for
LA based artists Arrogant Elbow (Sarah Elgart), The
Assembly and No)one Art House. Commercially he has
danced for Whyteberg, Teresa Barcelo, Kent Boyd and
Jillian Meyers.
