Rafael Quintas
Contemporary
Biography:
My name is Rafael Quintas. I am originally from Brazil where I was born and raised until moving the U.S. in 2008. I moved to attend school in Missouri, where I later earned degrees in Dance and Mass Communication - Radio/TV.
I always had a passion for dancing, but usually just by myself or copying videos and movies. I had never trained or taken class. At 18 I joined a musical theater company and the choreographer took a liking to my passion for movement and we started staying after rehearsals for sessions and going out to freestyle and battle. She also introduced me to Waacking which I fell in love with and have been training in ever since.
I arrived in L.A. January of 2013. I went through many great and not so great experiences until I decided to follow my passion into teaching and choreography. After a lot of hard work, teaching free classes and submitting to many different studios, I am proud to currently hold a regular class at EDGE PAC and most recently started teaching at Movement Lifestyle. I have choreographed for multiple dance events in the Los Angeles area and most recently started creating and directing dance films. Teaching and choreography is truly my passion and I can't wait to share it with Peridance.
