Gilbert Reyes
Contemporary
Biography:
Gilbert Reyes was born in the Bronx and raised in Spanish Harlem, Reyes graduated from Hunter College with a B.A. in Dance and Anthropology focused in Linguistics with a minor in Afro-Latino Studies. He dances for Maura Donohue, Frankie Martinez, Christal Brown and Vanessa Anspaugh. Inspired by physicality and improvisation Reyes plays with the body's different venues of exploration through movement. His is currently researching agency within the context of authority and reputation in light of past events surrounding police brutality and everyday social conflict.
